Protecting Your Business and Information: Recognizing Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Jay R. Pascarella October 14, 2019

October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM). NCSAM is observed every October, and was created as a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online. The 16th annual NCSAM has the message to Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT., reminding everyone of the role we all play in online safety and security at home and in the workplace.

Voci Technologies is proud to be participating in NCSAM, educating about the importance of cybersecurity and reinforcing our existing security policies and procedures. Voci uses a best-of-breed/defense in-depth security approach to protect customers’ data, our supply chain, software development, and SaaS services.

Our information security program also deals with the numerous security frameworks our customers may be under, like GDPR, PCI, NIST, HIPAA, ISO, etc. Voci employees all undergo both general and job-specific security and privacy training at time of hire, that covers data handling best practices.

Since its original inception under leadership from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), NCSAM has grown exponentially, reaching consumers, small and medium-sized businesses, corporations, educational institutions and young people across the nation. Now in its 16th year, NCSAM continues to build momentum and impact co-led by NCSA and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA).

The NCSA has put together a great set of resources to evaluate and improve your cybersecurity posture, including tips to make your business more cybersecure, free security checkups and tools, infographics and videos.
